Gevacril was founded in 1972 as Dr. Cattaneo began to manufacture cast acrylic tubes. In 1973 the company started to export to Switzerland and soon expanded into the most important world markets.
A commercial subsidiary, which nowadays manages the "business communication", was successfully opened in 1995 in Germany.
Today GEVACRIL® is a consolidated global player with distributors and agents spread over five continents and more than forty countries and exports more than 75% of the sales. The actual range includes 20 product families such as - CAST, XT and PC tubes, rods, bars, profiles, and the innovative GEVACRIL-METALLIC® TUBES, FLUOR-ACRYL® rods and bars, CAST CONTINUED® tubes - more than thousand items produced and stocked.

GEVACRIL® has been producing cast acrylic transparent and coloured tubes since 1972. With more than thousand articles produced and most of them stocked,GEVACRIL® has nowadays the most complete range of products in the field of acrylic commodities. GEVACRIL^® EXTRUDED

Extruded tubes, rods and bars are polymerized plastic semi-finished products. They are manufactured through extrusion, i.e., they are squeezed out of the machines like toothpaste from a tube. After the production process they are clear and bright both on the internal and the external wall. High purity, brightness and transparency are their most important characteristics; besides they are very high impact resistance and an unequalled resistance against weather conditions and ageing.

Cast acrylic tubes, rods, bars and balls are really cast as a single piece and are single polished. The result is a real, transparent piece of glass - acrylic glass, of course! Obviously, they cost more than the extruded version, but cast products can be tapped, drilled and machined without melting and have a higher working and service temperatures.
They are more resistant to stress, weathering, aging and some weak chemicals that would attack the extruded version.

DIN and ASTM are the most famous internationally renowned institutes of standardization that set on experience and tests based on a series of standard norms which the products are to met in order to reach a high quality market. We know that all our products meet the severe standard norms set from these two institutes, but in order to show you the process that leads to our excellent quality we decided to put it down: the result is the
QUALITY DESCRIPTION SYSTEM (QS)
which we wrote also in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001: every product has to respect all control criteria of the QS before its quality is approved.
Besides our semi-finished products in PMMA and PC complies with the appropriate FOOD REGULATION, COMMISSION DIRECTIVE 90/128/EEC, and FDA REGULATION 21 CFR § 177.1010 and are manufactured according to the plastic supplier's specifications.
